PEPPER'S - A SAFE PLACE
At Pepper's - A Safe Place, there is no charge, no agenda and no pressure. Just an opportunity to meet a friendly face, take some time out to improve your mental health and look after your mind.
We offer a range of activities from just sitting, talking and listening whilst enjoying a coffee or a bowl of home-made soup, to cookery and art classes, tai chi sessions for calming relaxation, music making, first-aid training and film nights. It’s all there to help you meet new people, regain your confidence and get you back into the swing of things. Our centre on the High Street in Oakham is bright and airy with lots of comfy chairs on which to rest and talk, a kitchen where you can make yourself a drink and a computer on which to browse and catch up on the news.
Please click What’s On for a full list of activities and times.
Come when you want, there’s no membership, no payment and no fees, just a space for you to enjoy when you feel up to it or need a little company. If you have particular skills and talents you can share those as well and make Pepper’s - A Safe Place, a place for self-expression and co-operation between friends.
You can also call our support line and speak to one of our friendly volunteers through The Friendship Project.

Funding & Donations
We are a totally self-funded scheme. It costs approximately £2,500 to equip each member of the team and without the generous support of the community, we couldn’t operate.
Please help us by donating to our Just Giving campaign: Rutland CFR. Or via our PayPal account link to the right.
East Midlands Ambulance Service has provided all the training free of charge. If you would like to organize an event, become a supporter or make a donation please contact us.

RUTLAND CITIZENS ADVICE
FOR RUTLAND
This weekend would have been the Good & New Clothes Sale at Barnsdale Lodge Hotel, Oakham. 100's of shoppers would have helped us raise over £40,000 to fund the specialist advisers at Citizens Advice Rutland. Sadly it wasn't to be!
For Rutland raises funds to pay for Specialist Advisers at Citizens Advice, who provide free, confidential, independent, non-medical advice to people of all ages, who are living with long-term health conditions in Rutland & the Surrounding Community.
Charity Registration No. 1107907

For Rutland was launched in June 2014 as a fundraising group of Citizens Advice Rutland, generating funds specifically to pay for specialist advisers providing non-medical advice to people of all ages with long-term health conditions in Rutland and the surrounding community.
Reducing stress and improving wellbeing by sorting out problems on housing, employment, relationship, debt and income is particularly important to those also having to cope with a long-term medical condition.
Since FOR RUTLAND started, the specialist advisers have been able to secure £5.7m for clients.
Demand for the service has far outweighed our expectations and with an ageing population will continue to grow,
so our funding is even more vital than before.
